Former
Professional Greek Folk Dancer with the Hellenic Dancers
of New Jersey, George Manioudakis continues his Greek
heritage by learning the klarino. Though not coming from
a musical family, he always had a interest in Greek
Music and especially sounds of the "klarino" from an
early age. After taking lessons from the top clarinet
players from Greece and many years of hard practice, he
has become a well known clarinet player throughout the
USA and in Nafpaktos, Greece where he toured with the
great clarinet player Bebis Vasilaris. George has played
at greek weddings, dances, night clubs, and festivals in
35 states throughout the USA, including his last
performance in Dallas, Texas at the greek festival with
the fantastic band Apollonia. Thanks to George the sound
of the "klarino" will be around for many years, and more
after that with his 7 year old son Dimitri coming up in
the greek music world.
