Chris
Haliyiannis was born on October 17, 1984 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Chris
comes from a long line of virtuoso musicians dating back to hundreds of
years. His father, Panayiotis Haliyiannis, is also a well-known clarinetist
and has been performing in the United States and Greece for many decades.
Chris has been playing the clarinet since he was 8 years old and his
greatest influence and inspiration has in fact been his father.
Chris has performed all over the United States, including Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In 2006, Chris and Apollonia performed in the Bahamas where they gave one of their finest and most breath-taking performances ever. He hopes to continue his contribution to Greek music with the authentic “demotiko” sound he brings to the stage.
Chris is currently in his fifth year at Montclair State University, striving for his undergraduate degree in the fields of pre-law and history and soon will attend law school.
